Yeah, I know it's been a while - but another life event has finally warranted a post on the blog. On Friday 08/08/08 my wife gave birth to our second child, a little girl who we've named Kira Aeris Lawton. Mom and baby are both doing amazing and big brother Tristan is adjusting and loving her better than we could have hoped.

So we just got out of our second ultrasound for the new baby and they told us that it's going to be a girl! Harmony, Tristan and I are very excited and we have tentatively named her Kira Aeris Lawton (name subject to change!)

I don't know what it was that I said, but somehow my comments section got flooded with spam links and all kinds of unsavoryness. It was so bad that I unfortunately had to just wipe out all of the comments from 2007 - so starting the year fresh we should now be mostly comment spam free.

After way too many years waiting, it seems like the old crew behind the Ghostbusters franchise have actually decided to join the rest of us in the 20th century and give license for some new content. It looks like the first foray into new media will be a video game coming in 2008 - presumably for the respective Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo consoles.

This is not the first talks of a Ghostbuster's game by any means. Earlier this year a game design company named ZootFly leaked a YouTube video of a 3d character running around with a proton pack and a car that looked strikingly similar to Ecto-1.

Here's that old demo in action - we can only hope that the final game is as interesting as this video.

A handful of the quotes at the top of this site I can attribute to the late comedian Mitch Hedberg, who was a very talented but unfortunately very self-destructive person. Well I've found another comedian who I've really started to enjoy and his humor very much reminds me of Mitch's. Early tomorrow morning (we're talking like, 4am early) my family is taking a little mini 6 day vacation to the east coast to be a part of a wedding of a lifelong friend of mine. We'll be spending some time in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and hopefully taking a trip down to the "shore" (east coast for beach) to walk the boardwalk in Ocean City. Aside from the much needed battery recharge and excitement about the wedding itself, this trip will be our 4-month old son's first plane ride! We'll be sure to take lots of pictures.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel.

As I'm sure many of you expected, life around the Lawton house has been a bit crazy with the new addition to the family. Tristan and Mom are happy and healthy and at 6 weeks old the little dude is already growing so fast! At his last appointment even the doctor didn't believe how much weight he had gained in just a few weeks. Please keep us in your prayers as we learn to cope with the responsibility (and lack of sleep!) that comes with raising a little boy.

Well it happened! After almost 30 hours of labor Harmony gave birth to our beautiful 8lb 12oz boy who we've named Tristan Allister. Both Mom and baby are completely healthy and labor went smoothly for the most part.

Harmony and I are attending birthing classes and trying to prepare the house for when Tristan comes and to say that we're ready wouldn't only be inaccurate - it's just plain wrong. So many things to think about, so many things to learn, and so many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes for him to catch up on. Please keep us in your prayers for the next two months because this baby is ready!

Wow, what a crazy year it has been. Marriage, pregnancy, switching web hosts, have my wisdom teeth owned......that's a lot to reflect on.

My wife and I decided to spend the latter part of the Christmas holiday with her family that lives in Spain, so I got to experience the new year in a totally different country and culture. We flew from San Diego to Alicante, Spain with a few connections - one of which was the Barajas airport in Madrid. By God's grace we passed through there days before one of the terminals was nearly destroyed by a bombing cause by a separatist group called the ETA who want their own sovereign nation apart from the spanish government.

My Teeth Got Owned

So yeah - last Tuesday my mouth was hurting pretty bad from those wisdom teeth I was supposed to have out in February, so bad that I couldn't concentrate, or read, or think good. So I called up my dentist who is apparently retired now and got a referral to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed from his successor. Actually, successor makes it sound like a royal blood line (that was in The Da Vinci code movie I watched last night), he was really just some other dentist who bought his office.

After signing my life away in documents which I assume said "were taking out your teeth, don't sue us", I was softly lulled to sleep by an iv filled with anesthesia juice. I woke up what seemed like immediately and the entire operation was already over.....darn I missed it.

Whats really funny, is they asked me if I wanted them to keep my teeth. I politely told them that those teeth had been causing me pain for over a year and asked that after they extract them, that they take them out into the street and run them over with their car because I never wanted to see them again.

The comedy in all of this is that now my mouth hurts even more than it did when I had the teeth still in and it's been over a week. Stupid teeth....

After 5 months of speculation about gender, the truth has now set us free!

We're having a boy!

It appears that all of the prayers and half of the old wives tales were correct, as the Lawton name will live on with my son (who is tentatively named "Tristan Allister").

While it's awesome to know, it just opens up another host of questions like: Will he be a musician / geek like his Dad? Will he have blond hair and green eyes like me or brown hair and blue eyes like Harmony? Will he like G.I. Joes, Transformers or Ninja Turtles?

Only time will tell.....

This week my work sent me up to our parent company in the MidWest and unfortunately the weather up here is just as mild as San Diego. I mean, I'm all about warmth and sunshine, but being from east coast I find myself missing that brisk cold morning air when you first step outside.

Another day, another handful of weeks of old content on my website. So many things have happened in the last few that I'm struggling to keep up. My free moments are so precious to me (my own, my precious) these days that I haven't even thought to keep this site up to date.

In the interest of keeping this site alive and not contributing to the downfall of the internet (which is already the home of many "redheaded stepchildren" websites, long lost and forgotten), I've decided to give you a recap and try to make good on some of the content promises I made.

- Sister had a baby. His name is JD and theres a picture of me holding him in the moblog.
- Got a new kitten named Simon. He will hang out with our other kitten when the baby comes.
- Harmony is 4 months pregnant and we find out in a few weeks whether we're buying blue or pink blankets.
- We're moving to a new apartment in Solana Beach mid-november.

I think that probably covers about half of the things I forgot to blog about, so now me and the internet can be half-friends again.

News of the Century

You know, this website has always been half-serious. The posts are half-serious, the bands on the left are half-serious, my camera phone pictures are rarely (if ever) serious, and all of the other sections, that I'm sure only a few of you have actually seen, are borderline fanciful. In fact, often I'll visit my own website and refresh the page over and over again just to see the quotes change at the top - which makes me feel like one of those guys who wears his own band's t-shirt. The fact is, this website exists as a hobby and only a few times out of the year does it contain any important information.

This is one of those times......

A glimmer of glorious light in a "sea of poorly thought-out material" and I cherish these moments where my interweb ramblings have purpose. So here it is, in all it's majesty.

I'm going to be a father.

Yep, we found this out this past weekend that my wife is pregnant and we believe the baby will born sometime around April. We're surprised, excited, concerned and scared all at the same time, as I'm sure most first time parents are. So I'll make you a deal, if you promise to keep us in your prayers then I'll promise to keep you up to date whenever we've got new information about the baby. Got it? Deal...

Yeah, I know I'm late - but I was too tired last night to write something.

On this oh-so-american of holidays, I recall the sheer magnitude of fireworks displays I've seen in my lifetime and realize that my interest in them on a whole.....has all but disappeared. When I was 10 it was all about getting the family together and heading to the nearest high school that was showing fireworks and watching in awe while elbowing my sister who sat next to me on the picnic blanket. These days the 4th of July is just another BBQ / Pool party with the family, followed soon after by nap or movie.

I would digress...but I'm not exactly sure what that means. I just see it at the end of every other blog entry and figured I should start digressin' too.

I found an awesome music discovery service today. It's called "pandora" and it's located (quite expectedly) at www.pandora.com. You enter a band or song that you particularly like, and it uses the musical blueprint of that band or song to create a predictive radio station that will play music that is musically similar to the search you started with. From there you can give a thumbs up or down to each song and it will use that choice to make smarter predictions for that specific station. So if you want soft instrumental music, but don't like Kenny G........you can have your cake and eat it too. You have to teach it your musical taste, but you can sign up for a free account on the site and it will save your stations for further listening and musical massaging.

Anyway, it's a great way to find new music and a great alternative to the "what do I want to listen to" syndrome.

Mount that PSP!

So now that I've got a new car.....I need to personalize it. It came with a sweet looking stock CD player, but unfortunately it doesn't play MP3's like my old Pioneer deck used to. Rather then spending $500 on the 6 cd mp3 changer from the Mazda dealership, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and use my PSP (Playstation Portable) for my mobile MP3 tunes. It just so happens that the PSP plays movies AND music, so I figured if I could find a way to mount it so that I could pop it into the car and then take it with me when I leave - it would work great.

I picked up a suction cup mounted PSP holder from a company that makes iPod and PDA docks and I've modded it a bit to fit nicely in the little area between my shifter and the stock center console. I'm going to run a wire into the auxillary port of my stereo so my movies and music play through the car speakers and bridge the 12v power that runs into the cigarette lighter (wont be needing that anyway) to charge the PSP while it's in its dock.

Wedding day is coming up really soon and I've got a few more tasks on my plate before I can say I'm prepared, but I'm definitely getting excited and I'm not anxious or afraid like I thought I'd be.

As a side note, another amazing band bites the dust. Don't Look Down, a very talented band from my hometown in Vineland, NJ has all but called it quits. There is still some speculation apparently, but all signs are pointing that way.

Okay, I know this is asking for trouble - but lets talk political.

There is a certain individual who insists on placing anti-bush propaganda in the form of office labels on a few select crosswalk signals near my work. His works include choice messages such as "Buck Fush", "Bush is the Anti-Christ", "Out of Iraq in '06" and most recently....the gem pictured below.

I've got my own personal opinions about Bush and his presidency as I'm sure many do, but it's this kind of mindless, baseless slander that accomplishes nothing aside from stirring up distasteful unrest among people with factual and intelligently thought-out objections to our government process. Aside from the fact that his claims are vague and nearly contradictory even with their hint of the outrageous, using a downtown crosswalk signal as a soapbox is pretty sad and shallow.

To refer to this person's actions as "childish" is derogatory to children, so I won't do so - but rest assured I remove every bit of office supply propaganda I see.

New Phone-age

If anyone happened to notice that the pictures from my moblog are quite a bit larger when you click on them, it's because I've aquired a brand new shiny cell phone. I picked it up last month and it's got all kinds of yummy goodness, including a 1.3 megapixel camera.

For those of you who still read this blog.....I've been listening to the new Thrice CD 'Vheissu' for the past few days and it's really amazing. It's such a cool contrast from their previous releases which were very heavy on guitar instrumentals and screaming to this, which still retains it's heavy edge, but instead focuses more on the lead singers vocals. Although you can rarely hear them, Thrice has very intelligent and meaningful lyrics. Here's some excerpts from last years "Artist in the Ambulance".

First of all, Happy belated Fourth of July. Yay for independence and freedom, and baseball.

Speaking of baseball, Harmony and I went to a padres game on Saturday for some good old fashioned (and expensive) hot dogs and a moderately exciting 9 innings. After the game they shut off the flood lights and regaled us with fireworks and the appropriate (yet very cheesy) patriotic country songs.

If you look hard enough you can see a picture of the fireworks and a sea of awestruck baseball fans somewhere in my moblog.

I stumbled across some celebrity photos yesterday and I though I would share them with you. Let just see if you can figure out who this sharp-dressed man is.

Still can't figure it out? Maybe seeing his friends will jog your memory.

If you haven't figured it out by now, the first picture is Jon Heder, the actor better known as "Napoleon Dynamite".

The second picture is Jon with a few of the other guys from the cast of the movie. From left to right they are Efren Ramirez (Pedro Sanchez), Aaron Ruell (Kip), John Gries (Uncle Rico), Jon Heder (Napoleon), Jared Hess (The writer / director).

After hearing pieces of the new Disciple CD I remembered a cool internet radio station called ChristianRock.net that had some really good Christian (read: uplifting) hard rock music playing all day long. They have a few different channel flavors to fit your taste or distaste for hardcore metal. If you like any of the bands I post on my band list, I suggest checking this radio station out.

Yeah, I got some sunburn - my favorite skin affliction if I had to choose one. Not only do I have dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep, but NOW my nose and forehead are a bright shining cherry red.

I would also like to add that I'm notorious for having half-a-sunglass tan (yes I made that term up) and it seems that i've done it again. Now it wouldn't be so bad if it was a whole sunglass tan because at least it looks like you're wearing sunglasses ALL THE TIME, but NO.....I've got one bright white line that goes all the way to my ear.

Well after months and months of research and planning and 6 hours total of test driving, bartering, paper signing and sitting in a office chair - Harmony has a new car. She decided on a silver Ford Focus, which is the newer and much improved version of the escort I drive.

It's a sweet little car and I'll have some pictures of it up in the photos section today.

I found out this morning that Mitch Hedberg, one of my favorite and most quoted comedians passed away this week. Comedy Central has a graphic up on their website with a bio and not a whole lot of information. From what I'm able to gather from the few sites that are reporting it, Comedy Central going to put up a whole page tribute to him. As soon as it's finished I'll make a link to it.

You should have been there...

Last night Harmony and I met up with some friends at a local roller skating rink for 80's skate night, and what a night it was. Being that I grew up in New Jersey, rollerskating is far from a foreign concept to me - when we weren't sitting around saying "Wuter" and growing vegetables to sell in open markets on the side of the street, we were rollerskating. All kidding aside......ok well maybe SOME kidding aside.....a good portion of my teenage saturday nights were spent with my friend Jake Burton at the Franklinville Skate Center a few miles from his house in Franklinville, NJ. I know this may not be something that many of you can relate to, but skating rinks, rollerblades and video games were a HUGE part of my childhood.

Anyway, enough nostalgia - 80's skate night was a suprisingly popular, although the amount of people in 80's costumes I saw there was disappointing at best. My friends and I totally took the cake on looking the part. We had girls in headbands, leg warmers, overalls with one strap undone and plenty of bright colors and guys in suit jackets over 80's metal t-shirts, ripped jeans, huge overstyled hair, flannel shirts tied around waists and the obligatory tucked in polo shirt with a flipped collar. We skated forwards and backwards to popular 80's tunes remixed with some techo beats, did the hokey-pokey in the middle and then took some pictures and called it a night.

Like I said, you should have been there.......but I'll have some pictures up sometime this week, as soon as i fix the photo gallery.

Smalls! He's one bad....

If you take a look at the Moblog pictures over there (which come directly from my cell phone if you couldn't tell......cell phone to website.....it's a beautiful thing) there are a few new pictures of Smalls in all his minature glory.

He's been spending a lot of time out of his cage sitting on peoples hands, shoulders, heads and various flat-surfaced furniture around the house. It's taken him a few weeks, but I do believe that he's starting to warm up to people now - where as before he'd go into convulsions and sporadic attempts of flight if you put your hand anywhere near him.

I think it's because I've changed the reading material that lines the bottom of his cage from boring newspaper ads to more vibrant, exciting pages from Entertainment magazine. I knew i'd use that magazine for something!

You know, I actually had a pretty full weekend and I completely neglected to talk about it yesterday - my mind just completely seperated itself from the past few days. Sometimes being at work does that!

Anyway, so Harmony and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary on Friday and went out to dinner at a very swank little restaurant called Cafe Azul in La Jolla. We dressed up all fancy like and had a really great time.

Saturday, my angel and I took a long air condition-less drive to Palm Springs to spend the weekend with her Grandparents. God bless her for having the patience to drive with me for 3 hours up and back in my little black car.

And last but not least, your efforts in helping me aquire a "Canada Eh?" T-shirt have blossomed into a driving force that won the contest by over 3000 votes! I bought it this weekend and will be sure to post pictures of it as soon as it arrives.

I hate to say it, but there really isn't a whole lot going on in my life right now.

I mean, I could talk to you about the video games I play, that Smalls is getting a daily speech lesson from a plastic box on how to say "You're killin me smalls". Or maybe I could tell you about my adventures in learning how to cook......but none of those things are exciting me enough to talk about right now.

Despite all the excellent submissions (on and offline) It seemed an adequate name for a bird, espscially one as small in stature as he is.

We figure we can teach it to say "You're killing me Smalls" and plenty of other things birds arent supposed to say with the digital bird trainer that Scott's Dad found on eBay.

I would like to mention that the submission for "Skee Lo" was a close second to smalls though, perhaps we could name another pet that? Seriously can you image a little ghetto bulldog named Skee Lo with a bling bling collar?

I bought a parakeet last night (as you can see perched on my finger.....scared out of it's mind) and I don't know what to call it quite yet. If you're got a good idea for a name, post it in the comments. It has to be something simple that I will be easily able to say

Yeah so I'm sick.....and so is Scott, so as soon as one of us starts to get well, the other person get's them sick. It's like a sick screwed up take on the circle of life.

Not too much good music coming out these days, thats why I haven't updated my bands list in a week or so. I've been forced to delve into my OLD forgotten bands that I used to like, and so far I've been reminded quickly why I stopped listening to said bands.

Nothing interesting to report unfortunately.

Nightvision Insecurity

So I saw an advance screening of Constantine last night with the Legend of Doo. The movie itself was really cool, and not cheesy or campy as I though it was going to be, but what made the movie experience bad was the nazi-psycho-pirate police that molested everyone with metal detecting wands before they went into the movie AND kept tabs on the theater audience with nightvision goggles. I kid you not.

Rest assured there wasn't even a hint of intent about doo and myself of bringing a video camera into the theater, we just wanted to see the movie for free, but regardless we were treated like criminals by the greedy uninformed corporate giant with no business sense or appreciation for their customers that is the MPAA.

What REALLY ruined it was the fact that while I was sitting in my seat sending a text message from my cell phone (way before the movie started) I was approached and ordered to turn it off by a very rude theater security person. Now I'm assuming they arent complete morons and giving them the benefit of the doubt by saying that they COULDNT have thought that someone could pirate a movie with their cell phone, because there is no cell phone in the world with enough capacity to record an entire 2 hour movie. I think they were afraid that I was going to call someone and tell them that their movie sucked.

Regardless, if they make security in the movie theater like the security at the airport.....I refuse to go.

Being that today is Valentines Day, and a festive day it is indeed, I'd just like to comment on the adversly dangerous effect that it has on people. I personally enjoy spoling my girlfriend ALL the time, but the difference is.....this is the one day that significant others should EXPECT to be spoiled. Maybe it's just me, but I think that take some of the fun and spontenaeity out of the whole spoiling process........because I believe that the best presents are the unexpected, unexplained and sometimes unaffordable ones.

Now let me contradict all of that.

Harmony and I celebrated our 5 month anniversary on Friday the 11th by taking a San Diego harbor dinner cruise, and it was nothing short of amazing. I was skeptical of the whole "fine dining and dancing on a boat" thing, but I was undoubtedly made a believer after an excellent meal, a fancy environment and of course.....beautiful company. We both got dressed up (yep I wore a tie....and tied it myself) and spent a fantastic evening together with a boat full of other fancypants.

Check out the moblog for one sub-par photo I was able to snap with my phone without offending all the suits and getting thrown into the harbor.

Most of Atreyu's lyrics are angry, dark and grotesque.....this "right now's" song lyrics are no exception. This time I chose only the bridge of The Crimson" because this was the most tame and surprisingly meaningful portion of the song. As a blanket statement, I wouldn't suggest looking to Ateryu's lyrics for any sort of inspiration.....in fact I wouldn't suggest looking at their lyrics at all :)

Radio Free Zion

I found a really cool internet radio station called "Radio Free Zion" that was created to serve the online community of The Matrix Online an mmorpg (massive multiplayer online role playing game) based on the continuation of the story that the Matrix trilogy started.

The radio station plays a mix of matrix-esque flavors like acid-jazz, house, industrial, breakbeat, techno-metal and digital symphony.....similar to the stuff you heard during the movies and on the soundtracks. The acid-jazz stuff comes mostly from the "Animatrix" which was set of animated episodes about the story of the matrix that was eventually turned into a DVD and had it's own soundtrack.

Following suit with his royal radness (http://www.ericisrad.com) I took a picture of my cars odometer when it finally hit 100,000 miles. This would have been much more exciting had my car not started falling apart a week and a half ago. Here is the photographic proof.

Not a great picture I realize, but YOU try to take a picture of your odometer in traffic =-P As you can plainly see i'm going about 33mph and thats on the FREEWAY.

It's no secret that I am a video game fan, but what I'm even more of a fan of is FREE video games. I regularly play a game called World of Warcraft (WoW henceforth) with my roommate, which is an HUGE online multiplayer adventure game. The game itself is a fantasy roleplaying game with Elfs, Orcs, Dwarves and plenty of other Lord of the Rings similarities. Recently the makers of WoW have had major issues just keeping the game online because of its unforseen popularity and a distinct lack of planning.

Last night, in a tizzy of personal angst, I sat and waited about 30 minutes in a queue just to be able to play this game that I paid (and continue to pay) for. While sitting and waiting for my chance to play, my mind flashed back to last year and to a previous game that I played a 7 day free trial of that was similar in concept to WoW.

That game was called Anarchy Online and after hunting around on the internet for information of what had become of this game I was pleased to encounter that the game still existed and still has people playing it. More importantly, they are offering this game completely for free now........no subscription, no box to go to the store and buy, nothin. You just go to their website, download the game.......sign up a free account.....and start playing. Here's a link to where you can do just that.

I'm not sure how and where I should put stuff that I've written and finished already, but maybe I'll just leave it in there until I have a recording and lyrics to add to the music page. It just figures that my car would start to break down the EXACT same month that I moved out. Yeah, my good ol' black escort that I've been driving for the past two years or so is finally starting to feel the effects of my neverending need to be somewhere. There are just a few things wrong with it and they as as follows: the clutch is going, the brakes are going, the tires are getting bald and barely holding air, the once black spoiler is now a spotty sunbaked mess......but I have a nice CD player :)

Speaking of CD players, I installed my girlfriend's new mp3 / cd player in her saturn this weekend with little to no collateral damage to my body or her vehicle. Bout time too, that was one of her Christmas presents.

After some good feedback from an anonymous source, I've changed the site back to the 3 column view with the bands on the left......pictures from my phone on the right.....and the party in the middle. Thanks anonymous source!

I also added a new section called "Writing" where I can put all of the lyrics / stories / poetry that start writing and rarely ever finish. Yeah, we'll see how long that lasts.

Well it happened, despite all the time spent putting it off.....I moved out of my parents house (again). I moved into a sweet little two bedroom loft with my friend Scott today, and after moving crap all day I'm happy to say we're finished.......not unpacked......but finished. I topped the night off with a dip in the new Chacuzzi (or Spa to some) right outside the window of my apartment.

Well I'm back in the USA now after an absolutely amazing week in Spain. I decided that I would celebrate my return by falling asleep and being completely anti-social for the next few days, so we'll see how that turns out.

Words to the wise.....American Immigration and Customs officers are quite possibly the rudest most incosiderate human beings on the face of the earth. I thought customs in Europe was going to be scary......oh no.......the devil lives in Chicago O'hare airport. More on that later.

You know, I was thinking.....I've always wanted to generate some kind of regularly released art form like song lyrics, photos, creative writing, or as I've decided most recently.....a web comic. Now I can't draw to save my life, so I think I'm going to resort to modeling my scenes in 3d. Seems silly I know.....but heck it might be worth trying. I'll employ Scott as my comedic and witty writing specialist.

The first thing I need to do is come up with a name for the comic and a few characters......I'm thinking three to start. I'm going to start working with some ideas in my head about this stuff.....but if anyone has any bright ideas, feel free to post comments.

Black Friday & More

Wow, it's been a long weekend. 4 day weekend and I don't feel like I got any rest at all, oh well.

This past friday was black friday, and I was up at 4:30 am with my Dad, Uncle and brother-in-law to go stand in line at Fry's to buy lots and lots of really cheap electronic goodies. I snapped a few photo's of the line that was already wrapped around the back of the warehouse sized store when we showed up at 5:30, but alas Cingular is sticking it to me and I can't email photos from my phone right now for some reason. The rest of Friday was spent with Harmony and my family down at the Viejas outlets (which I took some pictures of too, but Cingular is still owning me).

You know, I can't really remember what I did the rest of the weekend. I distinctly remember going to church Sunday morning, but the rest of it is a blur.

Despite the subject of this post, I am not telling you that I am somehow more intelligent then you.....because chances are, i'm not. IMsmarter.com is actually a site that works with your instant messaging clients (AIM, MSN etc) and lets you do all kinds of interesting things with it.

How interesting you ask? Well for example, I can send a message to a certain buddy on my list (imsmarterbot) and it will automatically post whatever I say to it as a new blog entry. I'm working on being able to syndicate that with my own site so I can add new content via IM but the logic of the code to do that escapes me at the moment. Give me some time and we'll see.

The other cool thing it does is log all of my conversations.....so I can find something I said to someone last week just by logging into the website. It also has a cool little reminder thing, so I can say "Remind me in 2 hours to Step away from the computer and get a life" and it will do just that.

The whole thing is still in beta stages, but it's definitely worth checking out.

So being an industrious death-defying (yet professional) cell-phone photographer, I saw some cool clouds the other day on my commute to work and snapped two pictures from the window of my moving vehicle. Little did I know that these pictures would turn out so.....well.....creepy. Take a look for yourself.

So yeah, any of you that know me most likely know that I don't watch TV, have cable at my house.....or even care what's on 90% of the time. Now I'm not about to go and change and screw up my whole average with that stuff, but I'm reluctantly admitting that my girlfriend got me hooked on the show Alias.

Now here's how i'm justifying it.....TV is the devil, the only good things on there are cartoons and the occasional un-interrupted movie BUT if one owns the DVD of a certain show, you can essentially watch all the episodes together like one long movie. That being said, I was up until 2 am last night watching the first season of the show and since they are 40 minutes a piece I only got up to episode 7 or 8. It's kinda like pringles, you can't have just one.

A word of caution though: I strongly recommend that you not check Alias out unless you're willing to have something haunting your mind and in return steal all of your free time away watching it. The show is not on TV right now because it's going into it's 4th season, but you can pick up the DVD's of all 3 seasons on eBay for like $70 - which is how I suggest you proceed....there's nothing like a commercial to screw up the suspense of a cool moment.

Plus, Jennifer Garner is hot.....she's almost half as gorgeous as my Harmony.

Ever sleep in so much that you woke up tired? That has been just about every day this weekend for me. As a side note, I got to watch Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence yesterday. The animation was unbelieveable, but good luck trying to understand it. I think it's going to be one of those movies that I have to watch a few times and even rewind it in a few places because I just can't read subtitles fast enough to comprehend it.

It's been raining pretty hard in San Diego for the past few days and I heard from the radio this morning that we haven't even hit the bad part of the storm yet. The rain is supposed to continue well into tomorrow and the winds are supposed to pick up to near 40mph. The funny thing is, whenever we get more then an inch of rain in San Diego.....it floods like there was a tidal wave, so we're talking about waterskiing in the streets.

Me personally, I love the rain......especially when there's a thunderstorm attatched. We can only pray :)

Only occasionally do I get to see an awesome show at Soma, and just about every one of those awesome shows has been spent with my friend Nicole.....desperately searching for the spot on the floor under the air vent and complaining about how the tall people really shouldn't be allowed in the front. Last night was no exception....

We saw Atreyu and The Used, and both of them put on a great show. Let's start with Atreyu, who can be best described as a young-wannabe-goth-metal band. Their lead singer is not a singer at all, but merely an off-key screaming idiot who wore a collared shirt and pranced around the stage. I could have done without him (especially because the bass player screamed better then he did) but the rest of the band was awesome. The two guitar players and bass player we're awesome, but the drummer was the fulcrum of the entire band. He did all the singing (with a really cool voice I might add) all while keeping up with some crazy double bass and punk / metal rolls. So yeah, aside from screeching Peter Pan.....they were an awesome live band.

The Used......we'll I've seen them about five times now and they never cease to put on an awesome show. The stage was decorated (quite daintily I might add) with pulsating red heart lights that paid homage to the cover of their new cd. They played all of their normal crowd pleasers, as well as quite a few of their new songs that I can't really decide If I like or not. They didn't play "Buried Myself Alive" which is one of their better songs from their old cd, not sure what happened there. My one complaint about this band, and Nicole would back me up with this, would be the overuse of bright, flashing, pulsating, glowing, and otherwize seizure-inducing lights. I seriously had a headache when I got out of the show, not from the gut busting subs.....but from the severely overused lighting. I don't know if Soma is to blame for this.....but someone needs to be smacked.

Anyway, it was nice being back at Soma again and I got to walk through the sidestage where my band Double Cluch played a few times. I wanted to send out a big thanks to Nicole for being my concert buddy and such an awesome friend! Next time I'm buying the tickets though, no more of this nonsense!

1 Month at DinneyLand

Yesterday was a special day for Harmony and I because we celebrated our 1 month anniversary. On this festive occasion we decided to get nostalgic and head to DisneyLand (or dinneyland as we have come to call it) for a day fun, relaxation and long lines. We really only got to ride on like 5 or 6 rides, but we had a good time regardless. Being that we had to wait in line for so long, I had plenty of time to shoot useless pictures with my phone for you all to enjoy. Take special note to the picture of Harmony with yoda.......it's a keeper for sure.

Relaxing Weekend!

Ahh.....back to work again after a long and relaxing weekend. My sister Trish came out from the east coast on friday and will be here till thursday.....so it's nice to see her again.

On Friday my girlfriend and I went and saw "The Forgotten" which I will post a formal review of later if I have time, but it was a good movie overall......the first to make me jump in a long time.

Most of the weekend was spent at my Mom's house with Harmony and the family..........which meant lots of laying on the couch and watching of movies I've seen 100 times before.

One thing of special significance that I just had to point out....I lured Harmony into playing a video game with me on Saturday and she actually enjoyed it! (or so she said)

Eric (from ericisrad.com) showed me really cool site a while back that I completely forgot to share with you guys. It's one of those sites that you look and and spend hours on at like 3 in the morning when you don't have anything to do.

What it accomplishes is showing a visual representation of a band and all the bands that they are linked to....either by way of music similarity, touring, ex-members, collaborations etc. Try it out, it's totally addicting.

If you haven't heard the band Don't Look Down you really need to check them out. The new cd they just released last week titled "The Fear in Love" is amazing. SmartPunk has the CD for like 11 or 12 bucks and it's well worth it. Check the links in the band section for more info.

Well I can't just sit back and not say anything. I'm almost kicking myself for not thinking of puttin these 2 together sooner. Aren't they cute ;). So ya, yesterday the 3 of us went to see the SkyCaptain World of very hazy picture that gives me a headache. I didn't expect much out of this movie and it still didnt meet my expectations. It had a nice Dick Tracy feel to the movie which was a nice change of pace. Now the next order on the menu....what to be for halloween....

It's not very often that I meet a beautiful, intelligent, Christian girl who will actually give me the time of day, but good things do happen to guys like me sometimes.....and this girl happens to be amazing. Her name is Harmony and I've spent the better part of my last week or so spending every extra minute I had with her including going to her church in San Marcos last sunday and bringing her to my church with me on sunday night.

There are so many awesome things I could say about her.....but you'll just have to ask me in person or email me :)

I flew an F18

Well this weekend I had the pleasure of taking a trip to miramar air force base with a friend of ours and let me just say that was an awesome experience. I got to fly the air force F18 simulator and sit in the cockpit of a real in-service jet. I took some pictures with my phone so be sure to check those out whenever you get a chance.

Resident Evil and Salsa

Resident Evil: Apocalypse came out in theaters today, and I'm really excited to see it. So excited that I even went out and bought the special edition DVD of the original Resident Evil.....and to my delight, inside was a complimentary ticket to see Apocalypse!

I MEAN WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?

Anyway, I can't decide whether I should see it tonight or wait until Scott comes home tomorrow. Regardless, I'll post a review of it after I see it......and from what i've read so far, everyone who saw it absolutely loved it.

My other plan for this evening is to go salsa dancing at the downtown Marriot with all the people from 29:11. Decisions decisions! I'll probably end up doing both RE and Salsa just for good measure.

On a side note my PDA and Eyetoy showed up at home today. Yay for toys.
